Sales Horses

We offer a small number of high-quality sales horses each year, through both our own breeding program and through our affiliation with Efri-Rauðilækur, in Northern Iceland.

Efri-Rauðilækur is the farm where our trainer, Jess Haynsworth, lived & worked for several years. They have twice won the award for Best Sport Horse Breeding Farm in Iceland, & mentored us as we embarked on our own breeding program.

When we offer horses for sale, or help match you with a horse in Iceland, we know & can tell you everything about the horse from birth onwards - how the horse has been handled, raised, and trained from day one. We know (and have often ridden & handled) the horse's parents personally, and often the horse's grandparents, too.

We find that this knowledge helps us match our clients to the very best character, gaits, and conformation possible.

"Otur captured my heart. Not only does he have beautiful conformation and soundness, he is calm, gentle, and very willing. He is a joy to ride and work with - the result of thoughtful and selective breeding."
Esther & John
"Bráinn has been such a delight to work with. He is sensible, playful, and curious. He is our first Icelandic, and it's been such a pleasure to learn about tölt with him. We are so thankful to Jess for giving us the opportunity to have him at our farm."
"Jess helped us find the perfect Icelandic horse for our teenage son. My son has been riding for years and we were finally ready to take the next step and buy a horse for him. As first time owners, we had lots of questions and Jess not only helped us each step of the way, she was able to find a horse that matched the personality of the horse we grew to love at the farm! We appreciated Jess' attention to detail through the whole process and couldn't be happier with our newest family member, Smári."
our breeding
Click the photos below to learn more about each foal from our own small, quality breeding program. Horses from our breeding program born in Iceland have "frá Efri-Rauðalæk" in their name, while horses born in the USA are "from Árdalur". We chose the name Árdalur for our American breeding because it translates literally to "River Valley," in honor of our beloved Mad River.
